What is Ultimedix?

Ultimedix Medical Presentations is a partnership between Ultimedia International, Inc., a leading producer and distributor of training and educational presentations, and J. Michael Digney, D.D.S., a practicing oral and maxillofacial surgeon.

Dr. Digney is a board certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon with 10 years of private practice experience in the South Florida area. He received his undergraduate degree from Stetson University in Florida and his doctorate in dental science from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. He completed his internship at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami and his residency training at the University of Florida Health Science Center in Jacksonville, Florida. Why was Ultimedix started?

In his practice, Dr. Digney noticed that he was giving virtually the same presentation to all of his patients during their initial consultation. He found that in order to give his patients all of the necessary information regarding the indications, procedures, anesthetic options and post-op information, as well as covering informed consent issues, was requiring 45 minutes to an hour of valuable office time. In order to maximize efficiency, provide a consistent presentation, deliver comprehensive coverage of all necessary subjects and associated surgical risks, as well as presenting the information that patients are most interested in (i.e. postoperative pain, swelling, activity, eating, etc.), he decided to produce a high-quality, professional video presentation. The result is the Third Molar Consultation from Ultimedix.

What are the benefits of Ultimedix presentations?

Ultimedix patient information presentations, such as the Third Molar Consultation, are designed to provide patients with extensive information regarding the indications, procedures, anesthetic considerations and informed consent issues in a thorough and non-frightening manner. Benefits include:

• Comprehensive and Consistent Presentation
• More time to see other patients
• Viewing flexibility
• Ease of setup and use
• Coverage of informed consent issues
• Non-threatening
• Generates Third Molar referrals

Our staff training videos, such as the Oral Surgery Office Assistant Training Kit, are designed to help busy surgeons avoid the typical problems associated with staff turnover and training new employees. Each presentation and its accompanying materials help your office get back to its peak operating efficiency as quickly and smoothly as possible.

Will the videos frighten my patients?

No. Ultimedix videos are specifically designed not to unnecessarily frighten your patients. We use incredible high-tech 3D animations to demonstrate procedures in a way few other presentations can offer. Each video is reviewed by independent doctors and is used in Dr. Digney's daily Oral Surgery practice before being offered for sale.

Are the patient videos easy to use?

Yes. Ultimedix videos are extremely cost-effective and easy to use. There is no expensive and complicated computer equipment to buy or learn. Our videos require only a simple TV and VCR or DVD player to use. There is no down time training staff either.

Small TV/VCR or TV/DVD combos are inexpensive, compact and especially effective in the operatories (see example at right). They can easily be placed on a countertop or wall mounted. In addition, videos are easy for patients to view at home and for your referrals to show prospective patients in their offices.

For those of you who want to use your computer-based system, we offer our videos on CD-Rom as well. Simply put them into you CD player and the presentations automatically play.

Why should I purchase additional copies?

Ultimedix videos are inexpensive in quantities and allow you to offer tremendous viewing flexibility to your patients. Have a copy in each operatory or consultation room and offer the ability to take them home so patients can view them at their own pace.

By adding your name and telephone number on the labels and covers, they make great referral marketing tools. Contact us for more information.

Can I customize my video?

Yes. Ultimedix makes it easy and inexpensive for you to further personalize your video by adding your name and telephone number on the covers and labels.

This is particularly important for those doctors interested in using the videos for referral marketing. Contact us for more information.

What formats do the videos come in?

DVD is our most popular format. They are completely interactive and never wear out or have to be replaced like tapes. VHS tapes are available for those still using VCRs in their office. CD-ROM is also available for those using computer terminals for their presentations.

All of these can be customized with your practice name. Contact us for more information.
